Founder’s
Letter
The archives of Iranian ballet and institutional dance were tragically destroyed in the aftermath of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. This irreversible loss has left our country bereft of a vital part of its cultural memory. What survived has largely done so through private initiative—through the commitment of individuals who safeguarded personal mementos, photographs, documents, and costumes with the hope that one day, these fragments of history would find a home in the collective narrative of our nation.
Enrich Our
Collection
Support Our
Mission
Les Ballets Persans is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and revival of Iran’s rich, yet nearly forgotten, ballet and institutional dance heritage. Our work relies on the commitment of those who believe in the cultural value of memory, history, and artistic legacy.
Your support enables us to expand our archival efforts, digitize rare materials, produce educational content, and make this invaluable history accessible to researchers, students, and the public.
Join us in safeguarding a national heritage. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to preserving the untold story of Iranian dance for generations to come.
Why Archives
Matter
Archives are not just repositories of the past—they are bridges to understanding who we are today. In a country where much of our artistic history has been censored, destroyed, or forgotten, preserving what remains is an act of cultural resistance and remembrance. Through our collections, we bring visibility to artists and institutions erased from public memory and give future generations a chance to learn, question, and be inspired.
Volunteer or
Collaborate
Are you a researcher, archivist, student, or simply passionate about cultural heritage? We welcome collaborations, research proposals, and volunteer support in cataloguing, translating, or curating materials in our archive. Your time and expertise can play a vital role in expanding access to this unique collection.
