iranian ballet

(NIMA KIANN. DANCE IN IRAN-PAST AND PRESENT. 2016)
“The last ballet production that saw the stage of the Roudaki Hall Opera
terminating a great era of artistic productivity for Iranian classical and
contemporary ballet, was Sleeping Beauty , staged in October 1978.
And thus, the beauty of Iranian culture and performing arts, the
Iranian National Ballet, fell into a deep and anxious sleep in Tehran to
wake up twenty-three years later in exile, reincarnated in
Les Ballets Persans ….”

(what we are)
This website is the sole academic forum for the preservation and safeguarding of the national heritage of institutional dance in Iran. Les Ballets Persans, established a quarter of century ago , is part of a wider nationwide initiative to give a renaissance to Iranian culture, restoring national pride and maintaining cultural identity of an ancient nation.
Like the legendary epic bird of Simorq, the art form of institutional dance and ballet in Iran has risen from its ashes and is restored in Les Ballets Persans and will soon build its nest in its own homeland Iran in a future that already has started.
