Expertise & Dedication
From its inception, funding for Les Ballets Persans was strategically directed to create a vibrant platform for collaboration. This platform aimed to unite not only ballet artists, choreographers, and other dance professionals from diverse international and cultural backgrounds, but also to foster a rich exchange of ideas with individuals from various disciplines.
The core philosophy of Les Ballets Persans centered on the necessity of viewing dance through a fresh and innovative lens. This vision extended far beyond the mere establishment of a dance company. Following the Islamic Revolution and the subsequent dissolution of the Iranian National Ballet Company, institutional dance in Iran effectively ceased for over two decades. Many ballet dancers associated with the former company had either emigrated or retired. Nima Kiann successfully rallied and engaged prominent Iranian cultural figures within the diaspora, including writers, historians, painters, graphic artists, and musicians. Their contributions were vital to an initiative that sought to revive a neglected and often misunderstood art form.
