At the Iranian Ballet and Institutional Dance Archives, we believe it is our responsibility to ensure that this rich heritage is not only preserved but made accessible to future generations. The significance of collecting, safeguarding, and presenting these historical materials cannot be overstated. Each item we receive is not simply a relic of the past—it is a voice, a testimony, a living piece of a silenced cultural legacy.

We are deeply grateful to donors such as Mr. Iraj Saghabashi, whose invaluable collection forms the foundation of one of our most distinguished archival series. His generosity—like that of others who have entrusted us with their legacies—has enabled us to build an archive that is truly unique, serving as a beacon for those seeking to understand the breadth and depth of Iran’s artistic achievements in the field of dance.

Yet, time is not on our side. The generation that once brought Iranian ballet to life—dancers, choreographers, teachers, and patrons—is gradually disappearing. Their personal archives, often stored away in forgotten corners, are at risk of being lost forever. Sadly, these materials are frequently overlooked by descendants who may not recognize their cultural and historical value—simply because they have never been part of the world from which these treasures emerged.

We extend an open invitation to those who hold physical or digital materials related to Iranian ballet and institutional dance: entrust them to us. Whether it be photographs, programs, letters, costume pieces, or recollections—each contribution helps reconstruct the legacy that history tried to erase. Your donation will ensure that your memories, and the passions that shaped them, are shared with a new generation. In doing so, your name and your contribution will live on, honored as part of a collective effort to preserve a national art form that once flourished—and that must be remembered.

    With sincere gratitude and hope,
    Nima Kiann
